So, Planet Hulk is out of DVD now. And I just got the 2disc collector's edition for $5. Brand new. At Borders.

I'll let you know how it is when I watch it (i literally JUST got home like 40 minutes ago, and haven't thrown the DVD in yet.)

I don't know much about the comic history of The Hulk, but I enjoyed the movie. Though I was a bit surprised that the Hulk did not turn back into his human form.. unless, I guess, he was angry the entire time?

The Hulk does not convert to human form anymore, hasn't for years. And the Planet Hulk is derived from a recent cosmic storyline in the comics. Not sure how far the cartoon goes, but it leads to World War Hulk, where Hulk leads the Sakaar to Earth to fight and get revenge. Does it also have Skaar, Hulk's son?

Sorry. I forgot to update here. No, Skaar is not in the movie.

Overall, however, I was highly impressed. The animation style was tight, the story was well written (except when Thor showed up....that was odd). Basically, it's Hulk imprisoned by the natives of the planet (whose name I cannot remember) and forced to fight Gladiator style to win his freedom.
